Impact of the Inflation Reduction Act on Medicare Part D

2026 changes:

Medicare Part D coverage will have an out-of-pocket maximum of $2,100 for prescription drug costs for the plan year.

CMS-negotiated drugs are capped at the Maximum Fair Price (MFP), which results in a cost savings for members. The 10 drugs with reduced price for 2026 are:

  • Eliquis
  • Enbrel
  • Entresto
  • Farxiga
  • Imbruvica
  • Januvia
  • Jardiance
  • Novolog/Fiasp
  • Stelara
  • Xarelto

Medicare members can opt in to the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (M3P) and make smaller monthly installments throughout the year rather than paying a large copay for their drugs all at once. Details on how we administer M3P and how our members can sign up will be shared in our AEP materials in late September.

Reminder: Sept. 30 MA certification training deadline

You must recertify to sell and receive commissions for 2026 MA products and to receive renewal commissions on existing MA business. You must complete the certification training by Sept. 30, 2025.

We only accept training from AHIP to satisfy the National Medicare and Fraud, Waste and Abuse training requirement. The national training and our training together satisfy the MA training requirements.

For questions or assistance with certification training, please contact Medicare Agent Support by email at RegenceMedicareSales@regence.com or 1-800-557-0555 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

When will 2026 materials be available?

Watch your email for AEP literature pre-ordering details the week of Sept. 8. Preorders start Sept. 12. Preordered materials will be delivered starting Sept. 26.
